Evans’ family was on hand to see him land the treble as his name was called out as the winner of the Ken Russell Apprentice of the Year, the SEQ Metropolitan and Provincial Jockey of the Year and the SEQ Metropolitan and Provincial Apprentice of the Year.

Evans also claimed no less than five Premiership titles for the season. They were the Brisbane Metropolitan Apprentice Jockey’s Premiership, both the Jockey and Apprentice Jockey Premierships at Ipswich and both the Jockey and Apprentice Jockey Premierships at Toowoomba.
