Form assessed for a soft 5 (likely upgrade).

Race 1:

Difficult race but I haven't minded the Melbourne runs of HELLO HORNSBY (10). Lacks dash but finds the line OK. Cassidy and a good alley are pluses and appears generously priced. SYN CITY (7) had every possible track and trip a fortnight ago but is drawn to get a good run again. NITSA (11) is a first starter out of a former quick mare. Trial last November was average but good money for her at fixed odds. Rough chances 1, 3, 9, 11, 12 and 14.

Race 2:

Thin race. POP N SCOTCH fought hard on a heavy track here 2 weeks ago and doesn't have to do much better to account for these. MARKOUT (2) is racing well and should be in the top 3 while ONGOING VENTURE (3) can be the improver getting out to this distance. Excuses last Saturday. Rough chances 5, 7 and 8.

Race 3:

BEWHATYOUWANNABE (2) keeps running good races and this looks a suitable assignment. TRAKSTAR (5) can find an excuse to be beaten but fair to say he should have finished closer 3 weeks ago. I'll try and back both or back and save. Best of the others is BLACK CASH (1) who is up in weight but down in class. Rough chances 3, 6, 7, 8 and 10.

Race 4:

MOUNT NEBO (4) was solid 1st-up at Sunshine Coast and is drawn to get a good run with Browne to ride. Generally a consistent Sydney sprinter with just a slight reservation at 1200m. ARCHITECT (1) keeps running good races and will do so again today. CHOICE BRO (5) is 1st-up but don't be surprised to see him flash late. Rough chances 2, 3, 9 and 10.

Race 5:

Wide open. LOTTO HILL (3) has always been above average at provincials and went well 1st-up on Toowoomba inner track. Will get a good run off a hot speed here. Go both totes. THATS POPS (5) is very quick early and been set for this. Yet to win 1st-up. Worth considering. BANDIT QUEEN (13) has been freshened and can run a race. Rough chances 1, 2, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 17 and 18.

Race 6:

LUCKY BLACK (9) is a progressive type, unbeaten in 2 runs his time in. not getting any easier but keeps taking the next step. JOPA (2) is a competitive type and is a last start track and trip winner. Generally holds his form. FLAMBOYER (7) is consistent and blinkers back on today. Rough chances 1, 5, 6 and 11.

Race 7:

HE DONT CARE (1) is airborn. Goes up 3kg which is the main concern but I've mapped him sitting outside Gojo Mimo. Very hard to beat. DREAM OF SLIPS (2) will be hard to beat 1st-up. UMASAGA (16) is on a class rise but has looked very good in past 2 provincial wins. Rough chances 3, 5, 13, 15, 17 and 18.

Race 8:

WORTHY CAUSE (3) can turn the tables on DENARIUS (2) today because he has drawn the rails gate. Certainly not much between them. BUSTING THROUGH (4) has sound NSW form and rolls forward. Rough chances 1, 5, 6, 8, 15 and 16.

BEST BET: HE DONT CARE (race 7).

BEST EACHWAY: LOTTO HILL (race 5).

BEST ROUGHIE: HELLO HORNSBY (race 1).

QUADRELLA: 3, 5, 10, 12, 17 / 1, 2, 7, 9 / 1, 2, 3, 15, 16 / 2, 3.
