Surely Winx only has to be steered trouble free to win the Queensland Oaks on Saturday week.
If you haven’t seen her demolition job of last weekend’s Sunshine Coast Guineas, make it a priority to watch it.
If you have, watch it again.
True, she may have found the quicker lane up the centre of the track but the turn of speed she demonstrated and the ultimate ease of her win was outstanding.
She was beaten at 2400m on a wet track in the ATC Oaks at Randwick but 2200m around Doomben is a far kinder proposition.
It should be a case of too swift and too classy despite where she draws.

I’m going to take the $13 today about Lumosty to win the Stradbroke.
The market at the top end is very precarious and I’m looking for one to come out of left field to turn the betting on its head.
This filly has a wicked turn of speed which she displayed in a quick up the straight win at Flemington last Saturday week.
She runs in the Straight Six this week and a winning performance will certainly see the $13 shaved.
And if she doesn’t win, she probably can’t win the Straddie.
I reckon it’s a good gamble.

If the market is precarious for the Stadbroke, it’s not much different for this week’s 10,000.
I’m happy to put the sword to Our Boy Malachi and Srikandi and they’re sitting up at the top of the betting ladder.
Is there a wildcard at this late stage?
Could it be the German import Flamingo Star for the Chris Waller stable?
Might be worth a flutter at the $17.

It won’t come as a surprise to me if I’m calling Traveston Girl into the gates for the Stradbroke next month.
But first she has to come through the Fred Best Classic this Saturday as a winner with the ballot free clause in operation.
A reasonably good gate will be essential but she’s capable of taking this ambitious path.

Which jock around town is telling the world about a comeback yet fell off his seat at the Hamilton Hotel?
It was a case of Humpty Dumpty speared to the ground.
