RACE 1:

CANTBUYBETTER (2) was never a factor first up off a wide gate but fitter now and better drawn and will race handier. Impressed last campaign. YOUWAITANDSEE (1) is first up but delivered a brilliant performance at class 6 level last campaign. Will swoop late. SHES MISS DEVINE (3) is quick but the last part is her main concern. Rough chances 4, 5, 8, 12.

RACE 2:

L'ENTRECOTE (4) ran well behind Le Cap first up at Sunshine Coast and that’s a good form line. Goes well second-up and boxed to get a good run. Keen eachway. KALANDULA (5) has impressed in her past two track and trip wins and is certain to go well again. WRITTEN ABOVE ALL (3) was good at the Sunshine Coast and might control this for a long way. Rough chances 7, 8, 10, 14.

RACE 3:

HARLEM RIVER (10) is understandably short after her latest Doomben 2nd but she did pull up lame that day and has had a reported setback since. No value there and the better betting strategy might be with LADY NO MORE (8) on both totes who was strong at Sunshine Coast first-up and the extra 100 metres will assist. STAR OF NIGHT (9) is some hope. Rough chances 3, 4, 5, 11, 12.

RACE 4:

DANSOLEI (14) was responsible for a terrfific run in the Dane Ripper. She can’t afford a bad start like last time but the 1800 metres seems ideal. BACHMAN (1) must be considered on his Guineas 2nd while RHODIN DRIVE (2) continues to race well mixing his distances. Rough chances 4, 5, 6, 8.

RACE 5:

Taking a gamble that THE OFFER (1) might be able to win with a class edge on the opposition. Has had two trials to get him ready for this. JETSET LAD (2) was very good in the Brisbane Cup and is versatile enough to come back in distance and be competitive. EPIC (3) continues to race well. Rough chances 5, 6, 8, 9.

RACE 6:

Typical staying test and not overly keen. EPINGLE (1) ran well enough in the Brisbane Cup to take this out and, similarly, BANCA MO (2) went well enough at Ipswich last Saturday to play a hand. POP N SCOTCH (9) finally cracked it at Ipswich last weekend and can run well again. Rough chances 3, 4, 5, 8, 11.

RACE 7:

Terrific race. Prepared to give LUMOSTY another chance after poorly ridden in the Stradbroke when pushed forward and was exposed four wide. Surely will be ridden quietly today and come with one sweep. REAL SURREAL (5) is a great chance at generous odds. Perfect preparation for this after dynamic Ipswich win. SOLICIT (7) is a forgotten horse who will run well. Rough chances 1, 2, 4, 6, 11, 12.

RACE 8:

TARGET IN SIGHT (2) is a competitive sprinter and boxed to secure a midfield trail with Purton to ride. INTO THE RED (8) is flying this campaign and was caught wide latest Doomben 3rd. Better alley today. KAEPERNICK (14) probably should have won last start at Doomben and will run well here. Rough chances 1, 3, 4, 7, 10, 13.

Best Bet: L’Entrecote (Race 2).

Best Eachway: Lumosty (Race 7).

Best Roughie: Real Surreal (Race 7).
