Form assessed for a good 4 (perfect surface).

RACE 1:

LESLEYS CHOICE (5) ran super quick time 1st-up Ipswich win and won by a space. Boxseats from rails gate and is the testing material. KALANDULA (1) runs well this track and distance and will be the best run on horse. AEROBAR (9) is a quick Sydney dilly who can make her presence felt. Rough chances 2, 4, 7 and 8.

RACE 2:

Keen on FLAMBOYER (7) eachway. Solid 1st-up here a fortnight ago track and trip and goes well 2nd-up. Might be the leader. MR JETSET (10) will run well from the rails gate while watch market moves with 1st-upper SUIT (11) who boasts solid Sydney form but hasn’t run for 434 days. Rough chances 2, 4, 6 and 12.

RACE 3:

MORE ENERGY (10) was responsible for a strong 3rd at the mile here a fortnight ago when raced wide with no cover but kept finding the line. Gives the impression the middle distance will be no problem. KOBI CREEK (2) puts in week in and week out and has to be included in the top 3 again. KAISER FRANZ (7) beat a weak field at Ipswich but should develop into a handy stayer. Rough chances 3, 5 and 12.

RACE 4:

DRAM OF RED (2) won very easily on debut in March and was put away after that. Helped by a good gate with Byrne riding and should finish powerfully. ALL TROOPS (5) ran well Ipswich on Cup day and can run well again. FLAMENCO (12) won a Listed race on debut then outclassed in Magic Millions but watch 1st-up. Rough chances 1, 4, 7, 8 and 11.

RACE 5:

The one alley is a big plus for THE STOREMAN (3) who should bounce to the front and lead all the way, turning the tables on SEEKING MORE (2) who beat him home last start. ROCKY KING (1) looks the other logical chance but will have to park outside the top pair. Rough chance 4.

RACE 6:

Wide open. LORDAG (15) is ready to win one of these races. Should land midfield with a trail and has a good finish. BUDGET BENDER (6) rolls forward, consistent, and is a track and trip winner. VICTORY HOTEL (1) is the Rocky Cup winner and I like the win strike rate (9 from 16). Rough chances 2, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12.

RACE 7:

RIVA DE LAGO (1) has had little luck from wide alleys at his past 2 runs yet has still found the line determinedly. Drawn the better gate today and hard to beat. STEEL ZIP (8) ran well in Rocky Newmarket and has a chance again while REAL SURREAL (2) disappointed in the Tatts Tiara but her previous win was excellent. Rough chances 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11 and 14.

RACE 8:

GOLDEN FALLS (10) was dynamic track and trip 2 weeks ago and only needs to reproduce that to beat these. Selected. FIXATION (17) is a semi roughie with some hope on a good 1st-up 3rd at Ipswich. Has ability. MISCHIEVOUS DEVIL (2) will secure a good run from the gate and is racing well. Rough chances 5 and 7.

BEST BET: THE STOREMAN (Race 5).

BEST EACHWAY: FLAMBOYER (Race 2).

BEST ROUGHIE: HOLLY HOLY (Race 3).

QUADRELLA: 2, 3 / 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 14, 15 / 1, 2, 4, 8, 10, 14 / 10, 17.
