Form assessed for a good 3 (perfect surface)

RACE 1:

Happy to stay with SHOTOVER RIVER (1) to make it a hattrick. Confident he’s got those covered that he beat last time but HOT SAGA (4) is the new blood after two handy S/Coast wins at 1800m. CASTLE EXPRESS (3) ran on well here a fortnight ago. Rough chances 2, 5 and 6.

RACE 2:

Maiden WACK’EM (11) has been an eyecatcher both runs at 1200m and gives every impression that the mile will suit. A better alley is also a plus to her chances. HONESTA (3) is a deserved favourite after an easy track and trip win a fortnight ago. Bit more depth to this race today. MR EPIC (2) was strong at the end of the 1200m in recent midweek win. Blinkers come off. Rough chances 1, 5 and 6.

RACE 3:

HONEY TOAST (1) is a strong finisher and racing well. Only needs to do a touch more after his 2nd this track and trip a fortnight ago. LUCKY LUCRE (6) is honest and should run top 3. L’ENTRECOTE (2) has had little luck this campaign but with a traffic free run, can make his presence felt. Rough chances 3, 4, 5, 8 and 9.

RACE 4:

LUCKY NEWS (6) chased hard behind Satirical Lass in super quick time this track and trip a fortnight ago. Secures good trip here and down 3kg. SISTER EMMA (5) also gets a good run with Colless riding and this looks a suitable race. ELUSIVE STORM (2) profiles well against her own sex with the rails gate. Rough chances 1 and 11.

RACE 5:

JOPA (3) was sharp this track and trip a fortnight ago. I’d describe it as a career best performance. Maps to get a good run off rails so hard to hold out again. THE STOREMAN (blinkers back on) will lead for a long way while VINTAGE MOSS (6) deserves respect 1st-up although maybe his best days are behind him. Rough chances 2, 7 and 9.

RACE 6:

TREATMELIKEALADY (10) is well placed. Good fresh with rails gate, she will get every opportunity. MANA MANU (7) is new to Qld and CV suggests he has above-average ability. Recent GC trial OK. HE DON’T CARE (4) was good last campaign and also runs well 1st-up. Rough chances 2 and 6.

RACE 7:

WORTHY CAUSE (4) is a smart 4yo, first-up since a good Winter Carnival. Rock bottom odds for mine but small field helps and generally runs well at the start of his campaign. MY QUILTER (6) will be on pace and is running honestly while BUAKAW (7) can do better than his 5th track and trip last Saturday. Rough chances 3, 8 and 11.

RACE 8:

SILIQUA (12) and TRUBIA (14) are lightly-raced, above-average four-year-olds who have more scope for the future than their rivals. Slight preference for SILIQUA. Solid finisher TELMEMORE (3) is best of the others Rough chances 5, 6, 7 and 15.

BEST BET: TREATMELIKEALADY (Race 6).

BEST EACXHWAY: LUCKY NEWS (Race 4).

NO BEST ROUGHIE.

QUADRELLA: 3, 5 / 10 / 4, 6, 7 / 12, 14 (skinny).
