WINNO'S WINNERS (2): RANDWICK, APRIL 16
By Darren Winningham | Friday, April 15, 2016
As this form assessment was made one day prior to raceday, please check final fields and track conditions for any changes on the day.
Week 3 of Winno’s tips – managed to tip 5 winners on the day last week!
The track should be SOFT come race day giving the mud larks a distinct advantage. The rail is out 9 metres in the home straight. It looked like it had chopped up badly after two consecutive weeks of racing on it last week ... it was noted in the stewards reports that some horses were affected by the track.
I am tipping leaders and on pace runners having a big advantage with horses coming from behind to struggle making any ground in the straight and final stages.
The Godolphin stables could have a wonderful day with any luck!

Race 1
A real average way to kick such a great day of racing off ... a Class 3 event. If you feel the need to have a bet maybe a roughie from the Price stable may get you off to a good start. Dylan’s Dynasty (12) to be ridden by Takeover Target’s famous jockey Jay Ford could be great value at around $20.
Selections: 12-13-7-6 with 3 the best of the rest

Race 2
Another wide open race - punt carefully.
Ammirata (4) is my selection from the Joe Pride yard. Has been working well and should like the sting out of the track.
Selections: 4-6-3-7 with 1 a rough chance

Race 3 - Frank Packer Plate (Group 3)
I am declaring a Godolphin quinella!
Old North (1) was super impressive recently winning the Tulloch Stakes. Should be going just good enough to pip the stablemate Asinara (9) at the post.
Selections: 1-9-3-7
*********************************************************************************************************
Race 4 - JHB Carr Stakes (Group 3
After winning the first four races at Warwick Farm on Wednesday the Godolphin team is on fire. James McDonald was in scintillating form winning the first five races on that program. Maybe the can continue here with Pearls (1) looking a great chance to win the race.
Selections: 1-10-4-7
********************************************************************************************************
Race 5 - Champagne Stakes (Group 1)
The last good quality 2 year old race in Sydney for the season before the focus turns to Brisbane for the Winter Carnival. Yankee Rose (9) was a great effort two weeks ago to win and hopefully can back that performance up here again.
Selections: 9-1-5-4
********************************************************************************************************
Race 6 - Hall Mark Stakes (Group 3)
A tough race. Speak Fondly (6) has an excellent second up record with two wins from two starts and has had the benefit of a recent barrier trial - could be the one to beat. I liked the run of Federal (10) first up and usually holds its form in its second up runs and could be the knock out horse.
I would not be surprised if a roughie wins the race. Take note of the form and runs out of the race as most of these will be heading north for the Brisbane Winter Carnival.
Selections: 6-10-11-8 with rough chances to the 1 & 3
********************************************************************************************************
Race 7 - All Aged Stakes (Group 1)
Look everyone wants to tip Press Statement. I like the horse but just think it has not come back this preparation so I am leaving it out and looking for some value. There was nothing wrong with Malaguerra (4) who won three weeks ago. I am sure that Blake Shinn will give the horse every chance and may see him pick up another Group 1 win over the Carnival.
Selections: 4-7-2-5 and Press Statement (6) if you want to go wide.
********************************************************************************************************
Race 8 - JRA Plate (Group 3)
Havana Cooler (4) looks the winner here. Great first up run and has solid form second up. Messene (2) has been running well without and luck. Watch for the improvement in Index Linked (8) as it always seems to make a marked improvement in every second up run.
Selections: 4-2-3-8
********************************************************************************************************
Race 9
I hope by this race you have backed a few winners over the Carnival!
I am going wide here. The Peter and Paul Snowden stable is well represented and could hold the key to the race. I am going with Snippets Land (14) with the inform Hugh Bowman to give it every chance from the wide barrier draw. Dances on Stars (3) could improve and watch out for a couple of horses that are down on the minimum weights, Nancy (13) and Religify (12) could be the ones powering home late.
Selections 9-3-12-13
********************************************************************************************************
Quaddie (races 6,7,8,9): 6, 10/ 4, 6, 7/ 2, 4, 8/ 3, 9, 12, 13 - cost $72 for $1 Cheap Quaddie (races 6,7,8,9): 6, 10 / 4, 7/ 4 / 3, 9, 12, 13 - cost $16 for $1
