WINNO'S WINNERS: ROSEHILL, SEPTEMBER 24
By Darren Winningham | Friday, September 23, 2016
Wow – what can I say ... last weekend was a massive success – box trifecta in the Shorts paying around $1200on TAB agencies across Australia! Thanks to all those people who messaged me and followed the tips. The winner of the race was Takedown – whilst I was not at Randwick my spies tell me that the trainer Gary Moore celebrated animatedly after the win! This week we head back to Rosehill and a good track rating with the rail out 5 metres the entire circuit.
NB *As this form assessment was made prior to race-day, please check final fields and track conditions for any changes on the day.
Race 1
An average race to start the day and it looks like the Waller team has the key to the race with a number of runners engaged here. I think it will be a Waller trifecta! I am tipping Four Carat (2) to turn the tables on stable mate Antonio Giuseppe (1). The gelding has a good second up record and meets his opposition slightly better at the weights here. Dubaiiinstyle (3) goes well on the Rosehill circuit as well. I still have a soft spot for Salthouse (5). I just think it looks a nice type and just has not shown his best yet since coming into the Darley stables.
Selections: 2-1-3-5.

Race 2
Junoob (1) is the class runner here and despite the weight will win. Brenton Avdulla takes the ride this week, He rode the gelding last start. Chaquinta (4) is the up and coming stayer of the bunch shooting for a fourth successive win this weekend. It does look a progressive type and is sure to be there about at the finish. The Darley two, Allergic (2) and Alegria (3) should round out the placings.
Selections: 1-4-2-3.

Race 3
Another one of these TAB Highway Handicap lotteries this week! These are tough races to tip in. The form is all over the place – normally the best way to find the winner is follow the money trail, in saying that there are only two horses that have been backed. Shotgun Roulette (8) has met with some support from $6 to $4.60 and Cool in Black (12) from $4.60 to $4.20. I like the chances of Distinctive Look (5) who has run a few times in these types of races – the gelding will not be bothered by the 1500m and at $11 looks a nice gamble.
Selections: 5-12-8-14.

Race 4
Invincibella (2) looks well placed here and James McDonald takes the ride for the Waller team, coming off a recent win midweek and looking to step up to Saturday grade. There has been some serious support in the early markets for Smart Amelia (5) from the James Cummings stables who turned in a nice run last start finishing on well behind Foxplay. It has been been backed from $4.60 to $3.80. Purrari (1) from the Waterhouse/Bott team resumed with a nice win midweek after an unsuccessful Brisbane Winter Carnival run. One to watch here is Bring Me The Bling (10) who raced is superior company last preparation and is second up this week after a nice win at Wyong in maiden company.
Selections: 2-5-1-10.

Race 5 – Stan Fox Stakes
Not often I tip them in race book order but it looks like a race to do so! All the form comes out of the recent Golden Rose race – I think this form is strong and will see some nice runs over the coming weeks. Impending (1) looks ready to destroy this field third up this week over 1500m. Divine Prophet (2) from the Hawkes team looks the obvious danger.
Selections: 1-2-3-6.
**************************************************************************************************
Race 6 – Schweppes Gloaming Stakes
Prized Icon (1) comes back to his own age and sex this week after running in some higher grade races. Has the services of Blake Shinn and a nice recent barrier trial will top him off nicely for this race. Swear (2) is a favourite of mine and is stepping up in grade here but will handle the class rise. I think that this is probably the best quinella on the program!
Selections: 1-2-3-5.

Race 7 – Golden Pendant
Heavens Above (5) looked good winning the Sheraco Stakes last start – Tye Angland retains the ride. Out of that race there were some nice runs from a number of horses – namely Denmagic (9) and the Queenslander Sold for Song (8) who were both held up at vital stages in the straight. With the smaller field this week these two may get some better luck in running and be flashing at the leaders late – especially if there is some genuine speed on in the race. First Seal (1) resumes here fresh from a spell and has had two recent trials – she is clearly all class and may need to be to knock this hot field off over 1400m first up.
Selections: 5-9-8-1 rough chance 2.
**************************************************************************************************
Race 8 – Shannon Stakes
I am going for some value here. I know that Hi World (4) and Old North (5) are short in the markets and have been well supported. I just think the Rosehill track will suit Cosmic Cube (3) and at the nice odds of $8 presently I think he is a great gamble here. Third up from a spell, 1500m, Waller – what else can go wrong! The other roughie chance in the race is Caped Crusader (7) – down in weight with a great second up record of 2 wins and a placing in three starts. Could be another one that will put some value in your exotics.
Selections 3-4-7-5.

Race 9
Dinghu Mountain (13) is lightly raced and in great form of late – has drawn handy this week and loves the track. It was narrowly beaten last start by the stablemate who he meets again this week in this race – Invinzabeel (7). Extensible (10) from the Snowden yard has the services of Blake Shinn this week and may have not have handled the wet track last start when she was a beaten favourite. Bullrush (3) is going well and should not be left out of your multiples. A roughie here is Our Boy Nicholas (5) who is currently $51 in the markets – a recent stable change from the Edmonds yards on the Gold Coast to Peter Robl in Sydney – he may just pop into a place at massive odds.
Selections 13-7-10-3 rough chance 5.

Jockeys Challenge
Is it possible to have a three way tie?? Christian Reith – Blake Shinn – James McDonald?? Will someone offer me some odds here – maybe back them all and get a nice result?
