MY CALL: WINX - LIVING THE DREAM!

Champion mare Winx allows a writer or commentator to dream.
After all, dreaming is all that's available at the moment except for searching for fresh superlatives either writing or commenting about her seemingly present invincibility.
But dreaming about what she could do or where she could go is a pleasant past time.
It was different with Black Caviar.
She was purely a sprinter so your imagination's scope was somewhat restricted.
You might throw up a suggestion that she be tried up to a mile. That's about where it ended.
Winx is a totally different case.
She has won from 1100m to 2400m on tracks ranging from good 3's to heavy 9's.
It's now 15 straight and that winning march is unlikely to stop anytime soon.
So the playground of imagination is very fertile territory.
The 2017 program is locked in but 2018 is up for grabs to toss around a few hypotheticals.
Could Winx be set for The Everest first-up rather than aim for a potential fourth Cox Plate ?
Think about it. She would be far from unbeatable but she would be very hard to beat.
Only beaten once first-up and a race loaded with pace, the hype would be huge.
Could Winx win a Melbourne Cup? What overseas races could or will she run in ?
Nothing is impossible in this dream because nothing is impossible for her.

Harness racing's chief steward David Farquharson was sacked last Friday.
No reason was given by QRIC.
I was critical of this on my Monday morning radio program PRESS ROOM, claiming it was unfair to Farquharson and unfair to an industry that regularly has to combat unfounded rumours and innuendo.
QRIC's commissioner Ross Barnett contacted me on Monday to say that it was reserving comment as the former chief stipe explored various legal avenues.
Understood and accepted.

Stewards were totally vindicated with their race eve scratching of Jukebox in Saturdays Blue Diamond.
Twice inspected by a panel of vets, he was declared unfit because of his action.
These experienced people just don't turn up at a stable and make it up.
Lo and behold, Ciaron Maher reports yesterday that a near fore hoof abscess has burst with Jukebox.
Enough said.
You'll recall there was concern with Winning Rupert's action on the eve of this years Magic Millions.
Allowed to run and missed the place but the warning signal was there.
