DUNN DOMINATES AT 'FORTRESS MURWILLUMBAH'

It is fast becoming ‘Fortress Murwillumbah’ as evidenced by the fact that the Matthew Dunn stable’s dominance on its home track reached new heights on Sunday with Dunn saddling up six winners on the nine race card.
It’s a ‘home game’ where good results are expected for the stable and visitors arrive knowing exactly who they are going to have to beat if they are to get a result.
Dunn has plotted the Murwillumbah game-plan to perfection.
True, the general quality of his racing stock is above the average of the horses that come to Murwillumbah.
Equally true is the fact that his horses just have to walk across the road to race, and not travel, a big advantage on a day where the temperature is as high as it was yesterday ... but none of that diminishes the record Dunn continues to put together with each passing Murwillumbah meeting.
And, of course the reverse applies when the Dunn team has to travel to other venues.
The real reason for his success is that Dunn turns horses out in fine condition. His overall operation is slick enough to pay attention to every detail required to get horses to the track ready to fire and professional enough to attract top jockeys Jeff Lloyd and Robbie Fradd to take the rides and pull the trigger.
The fact that these two jockeys take rides for Dunn in favour of other options which are available elsewhere speaks volumes for the stable’s capability and reputation. They seldom go home disappointed. On Sunday Fradd rode four winners. Lloyd won two races.
Even by the stables high standards though, Sunday was a special day.
Dunn hit the opposition for a six ... right out of the park.
Princess Elle, Viceman, Otto From Hamburg, Star Rock, Mia’s Got Class and Loose Goose were Dunn’s six winners on the day ... the last four coming in succession as the Dunn runners saluted in each leg of the quadrella.
It was a case of hard work rewarded with the results standing as a real credit to how Dunn, his wife Keira and their staff go about his business.
And a sure bet down ‘Fortress Murwillumbah’ way is they are not going to stop here!
