COREY BAYLISS BITES BACK
By Darren Winningham | Saturday, July 28, 2018
What a difference a week can make.
While the dust has not yet settled on the six-week suspension Corey Bayliss received last Saturday the young rider made the very best use of his stay of proceedings when bringing home the winner of the last race at Doomben in the form of the Bryan Dais trained Looks Like Elvis.
It was a significant career win for the young rider being his first Saturday metropolitan victory.
The 19-year-old is apprenticed to Garnett Taylor at the Sunshine Coast but is on loan to Barry Lockwood for a three-month period.
He rode 79 winners in the 2016/17 season. However, due to an injury sustained when he had a jump out fall at the Sunshine Coast and suffered a broken collar bone, he is understandably down on that figure with Looks Like Elvis being his twenty fourth winner of the 2017/18 season.
Bayliss comes from a racing family who have given him good support throughout his career and they would all have celebrated this special moment.
