WALLER GIVES UPDATE ON WINX'S CURRENT WELL-BEING AND THE PLANS FOR HER IMMEDIATE FUTURE

Speaking at a media conference at his stables Chris Waller has brought everybody up to date with regard to Winx’s current well-being and what the plans are for the immediate future.

“She has just had a quiet week to get over the run,” said Waller. “She could just relax and chill out, so to speak, and let the staff enjoy her.

“The owners have been in a few times just to pay their respects. You name it … kids from hospitals have been here. Just a few special guests I think you could say.

“The latest is we had a meeting yesterday … the owners, myself and Hugh Bowman. Basically, it was just about reflecting on what just happened … how great a week it was.

“She’s had a vet check … head to toe, inside and out … and everything came back well. There has been no noticeable changes and the vet is very happy with her condition. You see that in her races. We’re seeing it in her body language.

“The plan is to let all of the emotions go … to get Christmas out of the way and the horse can kick her heels up in the paddock which is so important. That’s been a big part of her longevity.

“After Christmas we’ll get together and have a chat and see where we are heading.

“I don’t think there will be any huge surprises but I think the owners deserve, my stable deserves and Hugh Bowman deserves just a little bit of time for everything to get back to normal because it has been a heck of a ride … and, yeah, just respect the horse.

“We’ll weigh everything up then and see how things unfold. We’ll let everybody know together as we have each and every day of her preparation, every day of her career.

“We appreciate everybody’s support and we know everybody wants to find out what happens next … but that’s the position for now.”
