MILLION-DOLLAR YEARLINGS BATTLE IT OUT AT KENSINGTON
The No Nay Never Yearlings Handicap (1100m), a 2yo Open Class race on the Randwick Kensington circuit, caught the attention of punter and breeders alike today.
Within the original field of fifteen acceptances, ten colts and five fillies, the combined purchase price of eleven of the juveniles was a staggering $5.575 million.
Topping the price list was Dresden Green (Snitzel x Asscher) – who cost $1.2 million and Stronger (Not A Single Doubt x Star Pupil), a $1.05 million purchase, and it was these two colts who settled down to fight out the finish of the race.
In a great tussle that saw less than a length separate the pair for the entire straight, it was Dresden Green who got the bob in on the line but a subsequent protest from Stronger was upheld, claiming interference over the final 100m.
Given that Dresden Green was backed from $41 into $9, it wasn’t only the connections of the respective horses sweating on the Stewards' Decision.
It was Stronger’s second win from four starts for Snowden Racing who have him heading toward G1 Inglis Sires’ – a race the stable has won twice in the past four years.
Dresden Green is prepared by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, and with two second placings from as many starts, it may be a case of third time lucky.

PROMISING KYLEASE RETURNS TO RACING WITH A WIN
Proven Thoroughbred Syndication principal Jamie Walter has had plenty of experience and success with the Choisor breed and in the case of 3yo filly Kylease, that good fortune looks almost certain to extend into the future.
Kylease, a $60k purchase, has already returned her purchase price and change, courtesy of two wins from her three starts including today’s BM70 (1250m), against older horses, at Kensington.
Coming straight out of her maiden win, today’s victory was no small feat and it now has trainer Joe Pride considering aiming Kylease at the back end of the Sydney autumn carnival.

UNBEATEN CLASSIQUE LEGEND ROMPS IN BY SIX LENGTHS
Another winner from today’s card that is certainly targeting Autumn riches is Classique Legend.
Making a statement on debut a fortnight ago with an impressive win, the Not A Single Doubt gelding bettered his last start result, winning by 6 lengths in a time of 1:12.70 for the 1250m, coming home over the final 600m in 34.10.
“I’ll handle him right like a good fighter – bring him up through the prelims. Never over match a good fighter,” Trainer Les Bridge said of Classique Legend’s future plans.
“I’ll probably run him in the Derby Munro next. I don’t want to over match him too quick.”
