WINNO'S WINNERS: EAGLE FARM, OCTOBER 5, 2019
By Darren Winningham | Friday, October 4, 2019
Eagle Farm this weekend … the track is rated “GOOD” … the rail is out 10 metres for the entire course. I have never seen the rail so far out at Eagle Farm and I am assuming that the leaders may have a field day, but it may pay to keep your eye on the pattern of racing to see what unfolds.
With that in mind this week – I have been very brief with selections only for the races.
Before that though, a massive shout out to the globe-trotting Matthew Palmer who rode five winners … including the Cup winner … at Longreach last weekend. A great bloke and family man, it is so good to see him making his mark wherever he chases rides. I even caught up with him in Darwin in August. He pops up all over the place!
It is the NRL Grand Final – Roosters for mine to win by 14 – now that is a big call!
NB: As this form assessment was made prior to race-day, please check final fields and track conditions for any changes on the day

Race 1
The two-year-old fillies step out here – anything could happen – bet carefully!
Selections:
Lady Grazier (5) Gotta Kiss (4) Press Start (8) Mishani Machine (7)
Race 2
The two-year-old colts and geldings are racing here – this is another lottery!
Selections:
Tick Tock Boom (9) Tumbler Ridge (10) Remorseless (7) Kavac (2) Rough chances – 3 & 12
Race 3
Despite Deploy having a massive weight he has some relief with apprentice Nick Keal taking 3 kilograms off – one thing is for sure he will be out in front giving them something to chase.
Selections:
Scallopini (2) Deploy (1) Baccarat Baby (3) Tawfiq Boy (5) Race 4
As they are in the race book for this race. I think it will be an Anderson-Heathcote battle with the top two runners – despite their large weight. If you want a knockout at $41 have something on Al Jood.
Selections:
Guntantes (1) Profit (2) Al Jood (4) Don’t Waiver (3) Race 5
This is a tough race – let’s hope Rob Heathcote can get a race to race double with Stephanie Thornton to ride Alpine Dancer.
Selections:
Alpine Dancer (2) Joymaker (10) Picaro (3) Amicitia (9) Race 6
I hope there are some scratchings here as my top two selections are both emergencies. Both of them were unlucky last start being interrupted in running and should strip better for their respective efforts.
Selections:
Written With Ease (13) Frangipani Moon (15) Cabin Fever (10) Macewen (9) Rough chances 3 & 6
Race 7
Mr Storm comes off a strong win last weekend – steps up in distance and I think he will love the mile.
Selections:
Mr Storm (13) Get Stuck In (3) Nothingforthepress (4) Galtero (9) Rough chance 11 Race 8
This is a very open race. There has been support for the Kelly Schweida trained Outraged. Winning Ways who won the 2019 Group 1 Oaks here in June is third up and could be ready to fire!
Selections:
Winning Ways (2) Outraged (7) Kubis (1) Ocean Addict (12) Rough chance 8
Race 9
Trainer Steven O’Dea looks like he has some great chances with his two runners – Langro and Sienna Rose - both coming off recent wins. If they are leading and winning you must load up on the certain leader here Langhro! Barefoot is a topical tip as I spent Friday with my beagle Buster on the beach on the Gold Coast – barefoot on the sand!
Selections:
Sienna Rose (11) Langhro (5) Enterprise Prince (4) Barefoot (13) Rough chances 3 & 10
