WINNO'S WINNERS: EAGLE FARM, OCTOBER 26, 2019
By Darren Winningham | Friday, October 25, 2019
EAGLE FARM RACES – SATURDAY 26 OCTOBER 2019 Eagle Farm this weekend with the track rated “GOOD” and the rail is out 3 metres – so I assume horses against the rail, the “perceived fast lane,” may get an advantage! A massive HRO congratulations to Jimmy Orman and Heidi Whalley who had their first child early last Sunday morning – Floyd James Orman – congratulations to them both and of course Floyd who looked wonderful in the photos on social media!
NB: As this form assessment was made prior to race-day, please check final fields and track conditions for any changes on the day Race 1 Rob Heathcote has a nice-looking filly on debut here – Jellishot (9) who has been trialling well. The apprentice that has been going well recently, Stephanie Thornton, has been booked to ride. I think the danger is the Tony and Maddy Sears trained Spirit One (1) who was great on debut when beaten by Gotta Kiss.
Selections:
5 – Jellishot 1 – Spirit One 3 – Press Start 2 – Mishani Machine Rough chance 9 Race 2
Advance Warning (6), the Gollan – Nothdurft team runner, looks well placed here. He is looking for a hat trick of wins and should be very difficult to beat. The logical danger is Lord Gododdin (3) who returns from a few starts in Sydney for the Chris Waller team on the Gold Coast.
Selections:
6 – Advance Warning 3 – Lord Gododdin 8 – Holbrook 4 – Benicos Prince Race 3
Looks like a battle between Tony Gollan and Chris Waller runners. I like Gollan to prevail again here – Amicitia (4) is at around $7 and Larry Cassidy partners the mare this start. The tempo last start here did not suit her and with some good speed in the race I think she will perform better this weekend.
Selections:
4 – Amicitia 2 – Tactee 3 – Nicholas 6 – Banteux Race 4
Kubis (2) will lead and could get away with some cheap sectionals and prove hard to run down. Jake Bayliss was kicked last weekend in the mounting yard – I think he will be looking to “kick” some winners home this weekend and the Stephen Lee runner Polemic (8) looks a nice chance down in the weights to give him a good chance here.
Selections:
8 – Polemic 6 – Fighting Teo 2 – Kubis 3 – Sabkhat Race 5
Miss Cavallo (2) for Toowoomba trainer Michael Nolan should be ready to fire this weekend. She has had a few runs under her belt now and she looks the class runner in the field despite the big weight. Another good ride for Dale Smith – maybe a tongue out on the way back to scale when she wins! Group Think (4) comes off a solid maiden win for Toby & Trent Edmonds from the Gold Coast and may just go on with it here.
Selections:
2 – Miss Cavallo 4 – Group Think 6 – Cellarmaid 5 – Couldn’t Refuse Race 6 Aeecee Tong De (6) is on a quick back up after running a good second last weekend for Desleigh Forster – she comes back from a mile to 1400 metres and I think this distance will be better for her. Mark Du Plessis rides her. Stuart Kendrick trains Written With Ease (10) who is third up here and has a ton of potential. She could be the upset runner!
Selections:
6 – Aeecee Tong De 10 – Written With Ease 4 – Soxagon 7 – Countess De Galvez Race 7
Red Stina (11) is second up here after a good third first up. Jake Bayliss is in the saddle. Bargannon (2) is second up as well for David Vandyke – this runner always goes well fresh and at $10 is great value. Magstock (3) won last start at a massive price for Kelly Schweida Racing and Jackson Murphy – in fact it was Murphy’s only ride on the day. They are looking to go back to back here.
Selections:
11 – Red Stina 2 – Bargannon 3 – Magstock 6 – Our Winnie Rough chance 7 Race 8 Tambo’s Mate (11) comes off a win a fortnight ago here over the same distance. He looks well placed again. Langhro (5) is trained by Steven O’Dea Racing and has been freshened up with a three week break – he will run well here and if they are leading and winning he is the one to get on!
Selections:
6 – Tambo’s Mate 5 – Langhro 11 – La Scopa 7 – Solar Star Race 9 There is some serious speed in this race. Leaders winning you get on Fiery Heights (2) and Meet Mr Taylor (4). I like something that will settle off the speed and come home late – I like Keen Array (3) who resumes after an 18 week spell and has won two trials on his home track at the Gold Coast. At around $15 have something each way here!
Selections:
3 – Keen Array 2 – Fiery Heights 4 – Meet Mr Taylor 5 – Life On The Wire Race 10
Pinnacle Star (3) is trained by Vandyke Racing on the Sunshine Coast. He has been racing consistently and is fourth up this weekend with Brad Stewart in the saddle. There has been some good support for this runner since the markets have opened. Macewen (1) won here three weeks ago for Gollan Racing with Baylee Nothdurft in the saddle. They combine again here and he looks hard to beat – it could top off a great day for the Gollan stable with any luck.
Selections:
3 – Pinnacle Star 1 – Macewen 7 – The Administrator 10 – Frangipani Moon **************************************************************************************************
