KILCOY CASH – FRIDAY NOVEMBER 1, 2019
Big day out at Kilcoy this Friday with seven races set to be decided. The track is rated GOOD and the rail is in the true position. It is the first heat of the 2019 Cannonball Series here as well!
NB: As this form assessment was made prior to race-day, please check final fields and track conditions for any changes on the day
Race 1
A 1060-metre sprint to start off the day.
I think the key to the race are two debutants – Sertin (9) trained by Tony and Maddy Sears and El Prados (8) trained by Billy Healey (the man with style).
Both have had some early support in the markets – I cannot split them. Maybe back one and save on the other.
I hope I get a nice message sometime prior to the race from Mr Healey thanking me for the mention!
Selections:
9 – Sertin 8 – El Prados 1 – Ankara Fox 10 – Spooling Race 2
Donald “Ducky” Baker debuts a runner here Majestic Ivy (5). Whilst there has not been much support early in the markets he does have an impressive strike rate here with his runners – if there is any money for this runner I would suggest that you get on! Oh yes and look out for those unique colours featuring the pink duck!
Selections:
5 – Majestic Ivy 13 – Sono Dolce 10 – Uno Eyno 11 – Rapid Ascent Rough chance 12 Race 3
The Kris Lees stable is represented here with Mr Piquet (5) and he looks hard to beat if he can handle the tight turning Kilcoy track. He will be ridden by Andrew Mallyon who has ridden a few winners since coming to South East Queensland.
If he does not handle the track watch out for Groovy Playmate (8) trained by Darryl Hansen, who has a wonderful record here, to get the chocolates!
Selections:
5 – Mr Piquet 8 – Groovy Playmate 3 – Shinar 1 - Bonsea Race 4
Looks a tough race on paper. BJ Smith ad Boris Thornton combine with Lucy Le Roc here who seems to have the form to post a win.
I must make mention of Ethan Ensby who trained his first Brisbane Metropolitan winner last weekend with Partnership – strapped by his partner Jade and ridden by his stable jockey Noriyuki Masuda. Ensby trains Missile Attack who normally does race in a forward position – that should see him competitive here!
Selections:
4 – Lucy Le Roc 2 – Casino Gold 3 – Missile Attack 6 – Legs Unbarred Race 5 – Searles Cannonball Series Heat
The Gold Coast trained runner Airino (8) has got my attention here. She normally races well fresh and will be ridden by Jarrod Woodhouse who has a knack of finding a winner here at Kilcoy. He has had some bad luck as well here – let’s hope he gets this mare home!
The danger is the Sears Racing trained Mountain Courage (5) who has had a month between races and should sprint well fresh here with Skye Bogenhuber in the saddle.
Selections:
8 – Airino 5 – Mountain Courage 9 – Von Rosen 3 – Flame of Liberty Rough chance 1 Race 6
Tough race.
Looks like a match race between the impressive Write the Rules (4) and Coup De Ville.
Write the Rules is trained by Mark Currie who is in great form. However, at $1.80 is a risk in my opinion.
I like Coup De Ville (4) trained by Corey and Kylie Geran – and why not keep it in the family with father and husband Gary Geran to ride this one!
Selections:
5 – Coupe De Ville 4 – Write The Rules 2 – Splendid Spirit 3 – Eskdale Girl Race 7
This last race is very tough. Go wide and you may find the winner!
Solid Asset (2) is trained by Cherie Vick and will be ridden by Greg Hayes. This runner won here two starts ago – sometimes winning form at Kilcoy is great form to follow and despite being $9 on Friday he looks a great each way chance.
Selections:
2 – Solid Asset 3 – The Last Sequalo 5 – Boom Rocker 6 – Alle Vongole Rough chance 9

Looks like a solid win to Emma Ljung – she has some nice rides.
