WINNO'S KILCOY KASH: KILCOY, 30 NOVEMBER, 2109

KILCOY KASH – SATURDAY 30 NOVEMBER 2019
Massive day at Kilcoy with six races set to be decided.
The track is rated GOOD and the rail is in the true position. It is the final of the 2019 Cannonball Series here as well PLUS the Tattersall’s Racing Kilcoy Christmas Cup.
I must confess I am looking forward to getting to the track.
The Kilcoy Race Club has been well supported by the Somerset Regional Council and the completion of the new amenities will see a wonderful addition to the venue. There have been so many alterations at the track to benefit the patron and to bring families back to the racetrack to enjoy the sport of kings!
Suffice to say WINNO will be trackside reporting live – I challenge you all to get along to the track and experience country racing at its finest!
PS – WINNO has been informed that the infamous Kilcoy steak burgers are bigger and better than ever! You are on a certain winner if you invest in one of these!
NB: As this form assessment was made prior to race-day, please check final fields and track conditions for any changes on the day

Race 1
A 1200 - metre maiden to start off the day.
Robert Heathcote seems to have become a regular visitor to Kilcoy in recent months. I know he loves his food – maybe he has found out how good the Kilcoy catering is – especially those steak burgers!
He is represented in the first race with Step Aside (4) who has blinkers on. He resumes here and had a solid hit out in a trial at Doomben on 4 November. Lani Fancourt is in the saddle – will I get the infamous smile and cheeky tongue out if she wins?
Mick Lakey and Beau Appo are a lethal combination when they unite here at Kilcoy. They have Elite Grey (7) second up here. This runner is drawn well for Appo in barrier 3 and usually races in a prominent position. This normally is the way to win at Kilcoy – be first around that tight corner entering the home straight and go hard! Selections:
4 – Step Aside 7 – Elite Grey 10 – Uno Eyno 6 – De Vega Peach Race 2
An 800-metre sprint here – these are always a great spectacle. Maddy & Tony Sears train Sertin (6) who made his debut here four weeks ago. He jumped awkwardly and then ran about in the running and probably cost himself all chance of winning.
I am forgiving him that run – it was his first start. Now he has that under his belt I reckon he will be super hard to knock off here this weekend. He has drawn barrier 1 and I see Skye Bogenhuber has been booked for the ride – she is back after a recent injury.
Lieutenant (4) is a first starter for Tony Gollan. My spies say this one goes well and will be hard to beat – watch for any market moves for this one and follow the market! Another nice ride for Lani Fancourt.
Klairesay (9) is a first starter for Robert Heathcote Racing. She has a heap of gear changes for her debut here. Stephanie Lacy has been booked to ride – she rides this Kilcoy track as well as anyone – again watch out for any market moves here.
Selections:
6 – Sertin 4 – Lieutenant 9 – Klairesay 7 – Betty Is Ready Race 3 The Great Northern 2019 Cannonball Final
One of our feature races – the 2019 Great Northern Cannonball Final!
Eight Over (2) is my selection here. He ran two weeks ago in a feature sprint at Roma over 1000 metres. This runner loves to fly the gates and take up the running – Bill Rose-Andrew rides him and dropping back to 800 metres is ideal in my opinion.
Tony Gollan and Lani Fancourt combine here with Godfather’s Girl (7) who comes off a solid win at Gatton over 860 metres. She will race behind the leaders and will come home late.
Si Si Sequalo (6) loves this track and seems to just keep giving in the straight every time he races here.
Boot Shaker (4) finished a nice second to Godfather’s Girl at Gatton last start and must be respected here.
Selections:
2 – Eight Over 7 – Godfather’s Girl 4 – Boot Shaker 6 – Si Si Sequalo Race 4
Looks a tough race on paper.
Donald “Ducky” Baker is back at Kilcoy looking to get leading bookmaker Con Searle’s cash from his bag with his runner Quart Pot (6) who comes off a win at Beaudesert and will be ridden by Kenji Yoshida. The win at Beaudesert was good and I think the step up in distance will be no drama here.
Corey and Kylie Geran train Angels of Fenway (2) who resumes here with Gary Geran aboard. He can be slow to begin on occasions – but, if he jumps cleanly and on terms, he will be right in the finish.
My mate the Doctor of Style and Fashion Billy Healey trains Brooker Avenue (7) who is first up with Adam Sewell in the saddle. The stable has had some recent success of late and as I haven’t tipped this runner on top it will probably win and WINNO will get “I told you so you muppet” from Mr Healey!
Selections:
6 – Quart Pot 2 – Angels of Fenway 7 – Brooker Avenue 5 – Miss Defiance Race 5 – The Tattersall’s 2019 Christmas Cup
The other feature race on this awesome program.
I like the Paul Butterworth trained She Salutes (4) who has won here at the track and distance. Her form hasn’t been anything to rave about in recent times but the fact that she has won here gives her a great chance.
Casino Gold (5) ran second last start here to Persistent Shadow (6). That run brings him into consideration for this race.
Persistent Shadow (6) was the medium of a betting plunge and a stewards enquiry about his performance when he won here a month ago in what could be classed as a race where jockey Kelly Gates caught them all asleep at the wheel when she surged her mount to the lead around 700 metres out from the post and the horse just kept going. Nothing made real ground and this runner never looked like being run down.
This week I don’t think she will get away with those tactics again – but that being said it was a very strong win last start.
Selections:
4 – She Salutes 5 – Casino Gold 6 – Persistent Shadow 9 – Legs Unbarred Race 6
Our last race on the program – on what hopefully will have been a fabulous day of racing!
Forget the last run of The Last Sequalo (7) who was forced to race three wide at Doomben. His previous run was here on 1 November when well backed into favourite and he looked the winner all the way down the straight until he tired and they stormed home late – he just went down by 0.6 lengths to finish a gallant fourth.
Alle Vongole (12) is trained by Heathcote Racing and has posted a win here previously. I would expect from barrier 1 that jockey Stephanie Lacy goes forward and maybe will let The Last Sequalo (7) cross and take the sit and hopefully finish off strong as they hit the winning post! Well that is my theory anyway!
Honour Promise (5) has raced well here in the past – he must be given some consideration in this open field. Selections:
7 – The Last Sequalo 12 – Alle Vongole 5 – Honour Promise 3 – Chocolate Oreo Rough chance 1
