Australia’s only representative at the Hong Kong International meeting at Sha Tin on Sunday, In Her Time, draw favourably for the $HK20 million LONGINES Hong Kong Sprint (1200m).
The Kris Lees Racing -trained mare was gifted barrier four when the owner’s representative, former jockey Paul King draw the seven-year-old’s starting gate.
Hong Kong’s sprinting hero and $2 favourite for the race, Aethero will start from barrier 10 as he chases his third straight win and sixth from seven starts.
His trainer John Moore was happy with the barrier 10 telling WINNO, “the barrier is not a problem at all … he takes a few strides to get into the tempo that we want him to get into. There is plenty of speed on the inside of him, but he will get plenty of time to move into high gear and be outside the leader or in front. I still think he is the one to beat!”
Last year’s third placegetter in the race, Beat The Clock is the second favourite in early markets for Sunday’s contest and the John Size -trained galloper will start from barrier three.
Beat The Clock’s stablemate and third favourite, Hot King Prawn draw barrier one.
Karis Teetan, the reigning 2019 LONGINES International Champion Jockey was happy with the draw of Hot King Prawn saying, “The draw gives me plenty of options. His run was good first up and he has improved since that run.
"I think my horse can beat Aethero”.
