TWO-YEAR-OLDS COME TO TOWN
By Graham Potter | Sunday, October 11, 2009
The two-year-olds came to town for the first time this season at Eagle Farm and there were packed fields for the two QTIS 600 Plate events.
The fillies were the first on centre stage and trainer Barry Baldwin sent out the winner in the form of the Demanding Miss, a daughter of Commands, who was never far off the action before producing a finishing effort that her rivals could not match. Joe Bowditch did the honours in the saddle.
The colts race winner was arguably even more impressive as the Desleigh Foster trained Adebisi scoring an authoritive win. The chestnut son of Shovhog had the gate speed to shoot across from an awkward draw to sit on the heels of the leader until the turn. Adebisi then wasted little time in asserting his authority in the home straight where he raced on to score a largely untroubled victory. Scott Seamer was the winning rider.
