INGRATIATING WINS TALINDERT STAKES. GIVES GODOLPHIN ANOTHER BLUE DUAMOND OPTION

Ingratiating gave Godolphin another very real option in their Blue Diamond pack of cards when he won the Listed Talindert Stakes at Flemington in impressive fashion.
The two-year-old son of Frosted, who was having his fourth start, had previously won on debut in the Listed Maribyrnong Trial before finishing second behind the very useful Finance Tycoon in the Group 3 Maribyrnong Plate.
His third start saw Ingratiating claim another runner-up finish behind Enthaar in the Group 3 Chairman’s Stakes … but today, he was not to be denied and he appeared to have the race safely within his keeping throughout the running.
“He is just a professional racehorse,” said Sean Keogh, representative for the James Cummings stable. “That’s what we saw in the spring-time. He was one of our most precocious two-year-olds.
“He won a stakes race on debut at Flemington and it’s nice to get him back here to Flemington and for him to put paid to them like that. We felt like he might have needed a good hit out today … that’s why James applied the blinkers and he obliged nicely.
“He got to the front a long way from home and he looked like he was doing it quite easily with Damien, and he was probably just that little bit harder on him than he needed to be because he was left in front for so long.
“I can’t imagine the horse being effected too much by that run though, so we’ll see how he pulls up and James will make a decision next week about whether he backs up next Saturday.”
