GLORIOUS RUBY CATCHES THE EYE AGAIN

The Bryan Dais trained Glorious Ruby scored another eye-catching win when she took out the QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap for Fillies at Doomben.
Since finishing second on debut back on January 9 at the Gold Coast, Glorious Ruby has now put two wins together, showing some versatility by leading from start to finish in her second start and then being equally effective when pouncing from just off the speed on Saturday.
‘She’s learnt a lot out of those first two runs,” said Dais. “I thought, even though she got it pretty soft at the Sunshine Coat last time, that there was a lot of merit in that win.
“She was out there on her own and she sprinted home with some very quick sectionals up there and it is never easy for a two-year-old to go 1200m on that track in only a second start in a race.”
Jockey Leah Kilner, who has ridden Glorious Ruby in all three of her starts, was chuffed with both the horse and the victory.
“From the moment I got on her at the Gold Coast she just impressed me,” said Kilner. “Every start she has put more and more together.
“She has got such a good demeanour about her. That is what will take her a long way. She is relaxed, not a handful.
“That was fabulous. Just a great little filly.”
