LES ROSS, DOING WHAT HE DOES BEST, KEEPS THAT TWO-YEAR-OLD SCOREBOARD MOVING

Another day … another two-year-old race quinella for trainer Les Ross.
Ross’ dominance in this area of racing in Queensland comes both in terms of results and participating numbers and the Mishani Delight / Mishani Tulip quinella at Eagle Farm yesterday was just another notch on the long series of notches on Ross’ belt of two-year-old successes.
“I’m disappointed I scratched my other one from the race now,” said Ross, after seeing the two Mishani runners lead their field a merry dance. The third placed runner finished three lengths behind the winner.
‘Mike Crooks (the principle of Mishani Enterprises) gave me thirty horses last year and just said, ‘do your best’ … and it is just good that we can come to town and go one-two.
‘The winner here (Mishani Delight) actually came to me a bit later than the other lot. She had a spider bite on her leg, so only came in later.
“From the group of horses I was given, I really liked Mishani Enchanted, but he was a bit disappointing running second last week … so Mishani Delight might be the best one now. She is the real deal.”
Mishani Enterprises winners for Ross this season (in all age groups) include Mishani Delight, Mishani Tulip, Mishani Enchanted, Mishani Scandal, Mishani Rebel, Sizzling River, Sweet Rhapsody, Mishani Secret and River Racer … highlighting the power of this owner/trainer combination … and the show seems sure to carry on from here.
