WISHART BACK IN THE WINNER'S ENCLOSURE

Madeleine Wishart rode her first winner since returning from a six-month injury enforced layoff when she piloted the Kevin Kemp trained Dreamtimer to victory in a Class 2 Handicap at Doomben.
Ironically, Wishart was also aboard a Kemp trained horse, Alert And Ready, when she fell during the running of the Pat O’Shea Stakes … the first two-year-old race of the season in Queensland … at Toowoomba on 26 September.
Wishart suffered significant injuries to her shoulder, elbow and knee in the fall which kept her sidelined until she had her first ride back at Rockhampton on 13 February.
Dreamtimer, for his part, has also spent more time away from the track than on it over the past fifteen months having been out of action from 9 November 2019 until his first up run at Gatton on 31 January this year.
It might have been a bit of a wait for both horse and rider, but it all came together on the day as Dreamtimer ($4.60) got the better of the $2.50 favourite over the final 200m to score by a comfortable margin in the end.
