PROBABEEL IMPRESSES AGAIN. PUTS A GOOD FIELD AWAY IN SCINTILLATING FASHION IN THE FUTURITY STAKES

There is just no stopping Probabeel.
The Jamie Richards trained star performer added the prestigious Group 1 Futurity Stakes to her list of achievements when she powered home at Caulfield to score an emphatic victory.
Probabeel raced wide early and was produced from some way off the pace, but her superb acceleration midway down the home stretch put a very good field away in a matter of strides.
Arcadia Queen, who was first up here, also ran on from well back, making a statement of her own of possible things to come with a telling run even if it only came up with second placing.
These are two runners we are going to hear a lot more about.
“She (Probabeel) was super,” said Damian Lane.
“She is just so versatile. She jumped well. I brought her back. Then I put her into the race early.
‘Not many horses can sustain a sprint like that from as far back as she did.
“I asked her for the early effort because I thought I had to get on top of Behemoth at least. (Behemoth had shifted out from the inside early in the straight looking likely to threaten) … but what would normally take 100m … at least … only took me about 20m and she was in front.
“I was worried about the cavalry pulling into the race off my back, because of the quality of the runners, but I was lucky she was so tough.
“She is just so classy and an absolute pleasure to ride.”
