IT IS THE GIRLS DAY OUT RACEDAY AT EAGLE FARM

Racing returns to Headquaters in Queensland tomorrow with the 7th edition of the Girls Day Out Raceday at Eagle Farm. With the rain we’ve had in South East Queensland this week, it’s remarkable to think we’ll start on a Soft 5. The Rail is out 2.5m the entire circuit.

NB: As these selections were made prior to race-day please check for any changes to track conditions and for any scratchings on the day.

RACE 1. BM80 HCP OVER THE 1200M

No 2 Chico Milagro. Finished off last prep well winning 2 of his last 3 and resumed here in a Class 3 running 3rd. He drew Gate 10 and sat wide but draws a lot better here from Gate 2 and should sit closer to the speed. One of the best bets on the program.

RACE 2. 3YO HCP OVER 2006M

No 1 The Cullinan. A last start winner at Eagle Farm over 1805m just pipping Abracaddazle on the line. He gains 2kg here from that win and draws the widest gate but should be powering home again.

RACE 3. 3YO HCP OVER THE MILE

No 5 Back When. He an exciting prospect with 1 win and two 2nds from his 5 career starts. He ran 2nd last start to Georgie’s Pride who has Miami Fleiss form. Another runner who’ll have to overcome a wide gate but I’m hopeful Ryan Wiggins can get him into a good spot in the run.

RACE 4. 2YO HCP OVER 1400M

No 6. Seefeld. His only career start he powered through the line to finish 3rd over 1200m. 1400m looks perfect. Ben Thompson sticks for Rob Heathcote.

RACE 5. OPEN HCP OVER 1200M

No 6 Jay Jay D’Ar. A last start winner at the Sunshine Coast beating home Scottish Mist who is good form also. Has Garibaldi form line also.

RACE 6. BM80 HCP OVER THE 2206M

No 5 Joymaker looks the likely one to beat here. Two solid 2nd placings in her last 2 starts both around the 1800. Looks ready to win with the step-up in distance.

RACE 7. BM70 HCP OVER 1300M

No 4 Golly Hutt. Has placed his last 2 starts in races won by Ventura Ocean 2 starts back and Wren’s Day in his last run. This looks the obvious form line in a nice race for him.

RACE 8. CLASS 6 PLATE OVER 1400M

No 8 Ventura Ocean. 2nd up and ready to make it 2 wins on the bounce. He beat home Wren’s Day in his last run with the perfect run. One of the best bets on the program.

RACE 9. CLASS 3 PLATE OVER THE MILE

No 11 Word For Word. A terrific last start at the Sunshine Coast where she just missed out on a win and was narrowly beaten by Wolf Moon. The mile is her pet trip and from the widish gate, will look to settle just off the speed with cover.
