MATT MOORE'S EAGLE FARM SELECTIONS
By Matt Moore | Friday, April 2, 2021
Nine races set for action at Headquarters tomorrow. Eagle Farm will be a treat as we’ll be on a Good 4 with the rail out 5.5m the entire circuit.
RACE 1: 2YO HANDICAP OVER 1400M
No 6 Secret Tales No 4 Seefeld No 2 Kenny Boy No 3 Vetta Velocitta
A small field of 6 to get us underway here. Secret Tales on top after winning her last start at the Gold Coast by 18 lengths (yes you read that correctly). She’ll sit right in behind Kenny Boy who’ll lead and I think she’ll power away again. Steph Thornton back on board.
RACE 2: BM78 OVER 2200M
No 2 Joymaker No 3 Picaro No 7 Youngblood No 5 Mishani Secret
Although Joymaker goes up 3kgs from her last start win, she’s the class runner in the field. She beat home Mishani Secret by 3L in that win over this distance and draws a similar gate.
RACE 3: BM72 HANDICAP OVER THE 1200M
No 8 Clearance Sale No 2 Dixon Bay No 3 Axe No 4 Hidden Eyes
It was a stellar first prep by Clearance Sale finishing with 2 wins and 2 placings his last 4 runs with the first run a 4th at Doomben over the 1110. Michael Rodd on board for Brian and Dan Guy from Gate 4 where he should find clean air in the straight.
RACE 4: BM72 HANDICAP 1200M
No 3 Ingear No 7 East Asia No 2 Dis Dah Wun No 1 Molly’s Rocking
Ingear found it tough going on a Heavy 8 across the road at Doomben in her last run. She loves the wide open track at headquarters and back on the a good track is a tick. Her record here and at the distance presents no issues and she draws the perfect gate.
RACE 5: 3YO QUALITY HCP OVER 1200m
No 3 Gotta Kiss No 1 Apache Chase No 4 Mass Destruction No 5 Tycoon Evie
With the big weights that Apache Chase and Kisukano will carry, I’m going with the O’Dea and Hoysted runner in Gotta Kiss who is resuming here. She rounded out her last prep in the 3YO Guineas on Magic Millions Day. Her 2 runs before that were in the Vo Rogue taken out by Apache Chase and the Mode taken out by Isotope. She meets Apache Chase a kilo and a half better here than that Vo Rogue.
RACE 6: CLASS 3 PLATE OVER 1400M No 1 Alpendurada No 2 Montez No 6 The Dark No 7 Joy’s Reward
The Rob Heathcote 5YO gelding Alpendurada is in great form coming in here after winning 2 starts back at this track and trip and then stepping out at the 1300m here to run 3rd. Back out to the 1400m and Gate 3 should be the right recipe for a win.
RACE 7: BM90 HCP OVER THE 1400M
No 2 Wren’s Day No 6 She Za Boss No 1 Top Prospect No 5 Love Struck
Wren’s Day recorded a great win last start at this track and track by 1.75 lengths to beat Golly Hutt. His run prior he ran 2nd to Ventura Ocean who is a handy one. Leah Kilner jumps back on here with a 3kg claim from Gate 6.
RACE 8: CLASS 6 HANDICAP OVER THE MILE
No 7 Slow Hands No 9 Walking Flying No 5 Word For Word No 2 Unbiased
Slow Hands was a last start winner here over the mile beating home Word For Word on that occasion. The Kelly Schweida trained gelding meets Chris Waller’s mare better at the weights than that last run and I think the big grey will make it 2 on the spin.
RACE 9: CLASS 6 HANDICAP OVER THE 1000M
No 2 Pizone No 4 Kalik No 7 Le Palmier No 1 Kylease
Pizone is resuming here and has no problems when first up with 2 wins and 3 placings from his 5 first up runs. His record on his track is fantastic and with 4 wins from 10 at Eagle Farm over this trip, he looks hard to beat from Gate 7.
QUADDIE NUMBERS
Race 6: 1, 2, 6 Race 7: 2, 6 Race 8: 3, 4, 7 Race 9: 1, 2, 4, 7
