IPSWICH MEETING ABANDONED AFTER FOUR RACES

The massive ten race meeting at Ipswich lasted two races more than the meeting did at Kilcoy yesterday but, ultimately, for the second day in a row, a meeting in Queensland was abandoned with Ipswich only going as far as race four.
Trainer Michael Nolan, who won one of the two races at Kilcoy yesterday, claimed two of the four races completed at Ipswich … so his stable has been the big winner during this very disruptive phase of the racing schedule in the Sunshine State.
Both of Nolan’s Ipswich winners could be runners for the notebook.
Princess Bojack, who already announced her above average potential back in October last year with a debut win in town before going on to contest the Listed Calaway Gal and the Two-Year-Old Magic Millions Classic, arguably gave notice of better things to come once again with an easy win over 800m … while Nolan’s earlier winner Hinged, kept up his highly consistent level of performance to take his record to three wins and two runner-up finishes from only five starts.
Jim Byrne rode both of the Nolan winners.
Other winners on the day were Strictly Physical, who pummelled both his opposition and the punters at a starting price of $41 … and Gala Rain ($10) who was another winner at double figure odds.
The first four races were conducted on a heavy 10 surface, after which the meeting was abandoned.
