Trainer Steve Tregea confirmed this morning that Incentivise, the horse that emerged as one of the outright stars of the Queensland Winter Carnival, is due to be transported by road to Peter Moody’s stables in Victoria next week.
The Shamus award gelding, who is on six run winning streak that has propelled him to national prominence … to the degree that he currently sits as favourite for the Melbourne Cup … last raced on June 26.
Since that twelve-length winning romp, Incentivise have enjoyed a well-deserved time out.
“He’s had nearly a month off at the farm since that run, and he is back in work now … so, he’ll have a week’s work before he gets on the truck,” said Tregea.
Another of Tregea’s runners caught the eye recently when Eloquently added to a winning sequence of her own when saluting for the fourth time in a row at the Sunshine Coast ten days ago.
“She did win well and ran a bit of time. She is a very consistent mare and improving all of the time too,” said Tregea.
Clearly Eloquently is one to watch and, unlike Incentivise whose next assignment is some way away. Eloquently will be see in action again soon enough.
“She’s going well. He should run either Sunday or Saturday,” said Tregea.
On Saturday Eloquently has been nominated for a QTIC Three-Year-Old Handicap at Doomben. Nominations for the Sunday meeting at the Sunshine Coast close today.
