BEAU ROSSA HEADING FOR THE MEMSIE STAKES

Trainer Will Clarken has confirmed that, all being well with a scheduled gallop on Monday, his star galloper Beau Rossa will be heading for a start in the Memsie Stakes at Caulfield on August 28.
The plan is that Beau Rossa, who crossed the line first in the Group 3 Spring Stakes at Morphettville last Saturday before being relegated to second place on protest behind Behemoth, will be partnered in the Memsie Stakes by his regular rider Todd Pannell who has ridden the son of Unencumbered in seven of his eleven career starts and in all of his last four outings.
The Memsie Stakes will be Beau Rossa’s second tilt at the Group 1 windmill having previously finished unplaced in The Goodwood.
Pannell’s commitment to the cause will cost him some time out of the saddle as he will have to complete two weeks quarantine when he returns to South Australia as per Covid-19 protocols.
Beau Rossa has won five of his eleven starts and also has three minor placings to his credit with prize-money earnings approaching $400 000.
