KISUKANO REAFFIRMS HER WELL ABOVE AVERAGE ABILITY - AND THERE IS A WIN FOR I'LL TELL YOU NOW

In the first two weeks of summer, the Michael Nolan stable sent out ten runners gaining no less than seven top three finishes.
The winner in the pack was I’ll Tell You Now who claimed a BM58 win over 1000m at Toowoomba on December 11.
The lightly raced three-year-old son of Eurozone had not raced since losing his rider in a Class 2 contest back on November 13, but he had established fair enough credentials before that having won on debut by 3.75 lengths over the 900m dash before following up with a sound second place, just a length of the winner, in a BM62 over 1000m in his two previous starts.
That form was good enough to see him sent out as favourite at the restrictive odds of $1.45.
I’ll Tell You Now landed in the leading line then continued to press forward in a line of three in the early part, before settled in second place, just outside the $15 chance Early Plea who had edged into a narrow lead.
Isabella Rabjones remained content to allow I’ll Tell You Now to race alongside Early Plea until the home turn, where she asked her mount to start applying pressure on the leader and, although Early Plea was game and tried to fight back, that soon proved to be an unequal contest with the followers of the favourite having nothing to worry about over the closing stages as I’ll Tell You Now had the result in safely in his keeping well before crossing the line.
The official winning margin was two lengths.
That’s two wins and one runner-up finish from only four starts for I’ll Tell You Now. _______________________________________________________________________
As far as the placed runners during this time was concerned:
Adalissa - had both a second and a third placing to her credit.
Autumn Daze - finished second,
Northern Express - finished second.
Rose Pin - finished third …
… but it was Kisukano who produced the most eye-catching run and most important result of all the Nolan stable’s runners in the first two weeks of December when finishing third in the Eureka Stud Classic for fillies and mares over 1200m at Doomben on December 4.

It was a great effort by Kisukano, who was unwanted in the betting at $31, to get within a length of the smart winner Miami Fleiss (who is unbeaten in her last three starts and who has an overall record of five wins from seven starts) … and to get within 0.25 lengths of the second placed Eloquently (who has won half of her twelve races and who also has four second place finishes to her credit).
Kisukano had no favours from her wide draw and raced back in ninth spot early. She was up to seventh as the pack tightened up approaching the home turn, now right on the back of Miami Fleiss ($2.90) … but was circling five wide.
Kisukano was absolutely fantastic in the run home as, although she couldn’t peg back the difference with Miami Fleiss, she stayed right on the back of the favourite all the way down the home straight and was only denied second place when Eloquently, who had saved an enormous amount of ground chasing hard down the inside rail, beat her home by less than a quarter of a length.
No cigar, but a big result nevertheless which clearly reaffirmed Kisukano’s well above average ability.
