CHANGE OF PLANS FOR CAMPBELL RAWILLER AS WESTERN AUSTRLIA REJECTS HIS ENTRY APPLICATION
By Graham Potter | Thursday, January 27, 2022
The strict entry restrictions currently being enforced by the Western Australian Government has forced apprentice Campbell Rawiller to plot a change of course for the next stage of his career after his application to enter Western Australian … where he was due to link up with trainer Lindsay Smith … was rejected.
Instead, Rawiller will now head to South Australia and the stable of the Morphettville-based trainer Ryan Balfour.
"Unfortunately, I had my application to enter Western Australia rejected with their strict restrictions the state presently have in place," Rawiller said, speaking to Racing.com.
"Ryan (Balfour) found out about my plight and was kind enough to offer me the opportunity to join his stable in South Australia. The plan is still to get to WA eventually, once the border opens up, but for the time being I am looking forward to working hard on gaining some success in SA."
Rawiller, who can still utilise a 3kg claim in town, will take up his first rides in South Australia on Saturday where he has been booked for three rides … Angel Like (for Will Clarken), Irish Playboy (for Henry Dwyer) and Picargo (for Ryan Balfour).
