GOLDEEL – THE LIGHTLY RACED FILLY IS ALREADY GETTING HER FAIR SHARE OF ATTENTION

Any lightly raced three-year-old who puts three wins together in a row gets its fair share of attention.
The Tony and Maddysen Sears Goldeel falls into that category after completing her hat-trick of wins at the Sunshine Coast meeting on February 23 … and the focus now turns to future hopes for the filly and where she might go from here.
Co-trainer Tony Sears, speaking directly after her last win, gave his assessment of the current status of the smart daughter of Dundeel.
“She did a good job,” said Sears. “Even though there was only three in the race, she is a three-year-old filly taking on older horses.
“I have got a good opinion of her. Once she gets to 2000m and further she will probably shine (her last win was over 1600m).
“We always though she might make an Oaks filly. That’s what we are hoping. Whether she will, I don’t know … but, in track-work, she has worked well with some very nice horses, and, as I said, as she gets further, she should just extend even better.
“There are no problems with the distance because her mother (Anagold) won an Ipswich Cup.
“I’m not sure where we go from here right now. I’ll have to talk to the other trainer,” concluded Sears.
