BEN THOMPSON SUSPENDED FOR FOUR WEEKS

In a sequel to the fall of Sacred Oath in dramatic circumstances at Ipswich on Wednesday, jockey Ben Thompson has been suspended for four weeks with the suspension coming into force on Monday March 21.

Thompson has a good disciplinary riding record … according to the stewards it has been four-hundred and eighty-nine rides since his last race suspension … and that fact was taken into account, but the stewards ultimately ruled that the level of seriousness of the interference on the day, which brought really unfortunately consequences into play, warranted a four week suspension.
