DAVID VANDYKE PROVIDES WILLIE PIKE WITH HIS FIRST WINNER AT THE SUNSHINE COAST

Cudyado provided the David Vandyke stable with a third winner on the Sunshine Coast Poly Track in as many meetings when he strolled home in a QTIS Three-Year-Old Colts and Geldings Maiden Plate over 1000m on May 22.
The lightly raced Spirit Of Boom three-year-old was first-up here, but that meant little to those forming the odds as they marked Cudyado up at the restrictive odds of $1.50, a decision the Vandyke trained runner justified in no uncertain terms as he scored an arrogant victory, leaving his closest rival chasing a full three lengths.
At no stage did Pike and Cudyado allow any other runner into the race.
Beyond that, except that Cudyado provided Willie Pike with his first winner at the Sunshine Coast, there is little else to tell.
Pike confidently sent Cudyado into a two length lead early and he comfortably held that advantage until turning into the home straight.
At the 250m Pike started pushing Cudyado out a bit … just for practise … and his lead quickly became four lengths, before Pike throttled back down again with 100m left to run and simply allowed Cudyado to cruise to the line.
Wins don’t come more fluent than this!
