THE SUNSHINE COAST POLYTRACK PROVING TO BE WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN GOLD TO THE RACING INDUSTRY
By Graham Potter | Wednesday, May 25, 2022
In yet another reshuffle of the race meeting cards in Queensland the meeting scheduled for Ipswich tomorrow (Thursday) had been rescheduled and moved to Sunday.
Earlier, the Gold Coast meeting scheduled for Saturday was transferred to the Polytrack at the Sunshine Coast.
Friday’s Sunshine Coast meeting has also been moved from the turf proper to the Polytrack.
Since the Wednesday meeting on May 11, five meetings have already taken place on the Polytrack.
This means that the two Polytrack meetings this weekend will bring the number of meetings on the back-up, synthetic surface to no less than seven in seventeen days … underlining the value of this Sunshine Coast Turf Club track option which has been the absolute saviour of race-meetings in Queensland over the last couple of weeks, so importantly allowing betting turnover to flow and prize-money to be returned to participants.
