FREEDOM AVENUE WINS AGAIN

The four-year-old chestnut gelding Freedom Avenue has found a rich vein of form in recent starts and his success at Gatton in a BM55 Handicap over 1400m gave him back-to-back wins after he had saluted over 1600m at a Sunshine Coast Poly Track meeting back on September 8.

Jake Mollow wasted no time in pushing Freedom Avenue ($6) forward from a wide draw and, when the dust had settled on the opening flourish, Molloy was then happy to position the son of Eurozone a couple of lengths off the speed until the home turn.

Once into clear air one off the fence, Freedom Avenue set about reeling in the $5.50 chance Bean A While, who had set sail for home at the top of the straight.

It required an honest chase with no room for error, but Freedom Avenue proved up to the task, taking the measure of Bean A While over the last 50m to win by 0.50 lengths.

This was Freedom Avenue’s third win from thirteen starts.
