WINNO'S WINNERS: GOLD COAST, NOVEMBER 26, 2022
By Darren Winningham | Thursday, November 24, 2022
GOLD COAST this weekend – always an amazing day at Aquis Park.
The track is rated ‘Good.’ The rail is in the true position for the entire circuit. There is forecast showers and rain in the lead up to this meeting. If the rain comes it may be a tough day.
With that in mind I will be super brief.
NB: As these selections were made prior to race-day, please check for any changes to track conditions and for any scratchings on the day.

Race 6
This is the first leg of the Quaddie. A race over 1100 metres.
The Tony Gollan pair look well placed here. Shamaton (5) was sent out favourite last time out at Doomben and was beaten in the final bound by Starvirgo. A three week freshen up and he has won here previously – Jimmy Orman will ride. With the solid speed in the race, he should be powering home late.
Liza With A Zee (9), who will be ridden by Stephanie Thornton, loves the Gold Coast track – just some concern second-up where she has a poor record. She is drawn nicely and weighted well for a chance to post a win at odds.
Selections:
5 – Shamaton 9 – Liza With A Zee 13 – Amity Gal 2 – Zuma California Rough chance – (6) Miss Hipstar & (1) Shamrock Lu
Race 7 EUREKA STUD TATTERSALL’S CLASSIC
First leg of the treble over a mile.
Juan Diva (1) despises wet tracks. Trained by Will & Richard Freeman she was nominated for a race in Sydney – but she will start on the Gold Coast. Gets in nicely at the weights and has Jimmy Orman aboard. She went around at Flemington last start in Group 3 company and never stretched out on the wet track – the run is much more meritorious than what it appears in the race book.
Salateen (4) could make it a great day for Gollan Racing – will be ridden by Jim Byrne. She looked like she may need the run in the parade ring at Doomben first up – to be fair that was in Listed company and Holyfield (race 8 – number 2) did end up running a track record – so her effort was sound. She is back against her own sex here – I expect a bold effort.
Amity Girl (13) should make the field here with some early scratchings – trained by David Vandyke and Kyle Wilson Taylor will ride. Keep safe.
Locally trained Me Me Lagarde is trained by Toby and Trent Edmonds and has had a freshen up since resuming at Eagle Farm six weeks ago. She likes a firm track – has a solid second up record and Andrew Mallyon will ride her again. She has solid form over the mile
Selections:
1 – Juan Diva 4 – Salateen 13 – Amity Girl 3 – Me Me Lagarde Rough chance – (10) Extremist
Race 8 SKY RACING TATTERSALL’S RECOGNITION STAKES
Open race here over 1350 metres. Our feature race.
Can the Annabel Neasham trained Holyfield (2) back up his superb first up effort when he broke the Doomben track record held by Jonker. It was a superb effort. Will be partnered again by Brodie Loy and must contend with a sharp rise in weight – will this stop him this week?
Rubamos (7) is trained here by the Chris Waller Racing team. I think he races better over the mile – he was successful last time out over 1350 metres at Doomben. He will be right in this race on his home track with Samantha Collett in the saddle. He should race handy and with the pull in the weights may just upset the favourite.
Keep safe the Kris Lees trained Kinloch (9) who ran well behind Rubamos (7) last time out at Doomben. Andrew Mallyon will be off the KFC and pizza this week to get down to ride him at the 54 kilograms – looks well placed.
Keep safe Wonderful Riri (8) who returns to the Steven O’Dea & Matt Hoysted yards after a stint in Sydney. He is only a lightly raced 7-year-old that could cause a major upset.
Selections:
7 – Rubamos 2 – Holyfield 9 – Kinloch 8 – Wonderful Riri
Race 9
The last race – tough way to end the day.
Selections:
14 – Giulia 10 – Release The Beans 6 – Rathlin 8 – Fifteen Rounds Rough chances – (11) Subterranean & (16) Menazzi _______________________________________________________________________

WINNO V FLEMO
The battle continues with WINNO and FLEMO. I gave him a flogging last weekend – not really – but I must attempt to get him to lift his game! I am cautious this weekend he seems to go well at this track! Be sure to check the up to date and amended tips each Saturday morning on Facebook after any track changes and scratchings where I will post our selections and any late mail!
