A SPECIAL BIRTHDAY FOR KAH COULD GET EVEN BETTER

Happy Birthday Jamie Kah!
And what a special birthday it is already with Kah joining Hugh Bowman in representing Australia at the LONGINES International Jockeys’ Championship at Happy Valley tonight.
And it could get even better for Kah as she celebrates her 27th Birthday if the IJC results go her way.
“I am super excited. it’s my first time in Hong Kong and obviously my first-time riding in Hong Kong,” Kah told HRO’s Darren Winningham.
Kah explained that she had taken some recent time out in Bali with partner Ben Melham to take a break.
“it’s been a pretty long year and a stressful year. The Carnival (Melbourne Cup Carnival) was great. We went to Bali to a fitness retreat and lost a bit of weight and freshen up. We enjoyed some sunshine and got away from Melbourne’s hail for a week”
And what about the prospect of possibly taking up a contract to ride in Hong Kong.
"I've been in discussions off and on about it,” explained Kah. “I'm just not sure whether it would be the right thing for me, so this is the perfect occasion to come and give it a test and see if I like it"
Kah has been allocated some solid chances in the IJC riding:
Her rides are:
Race 4 – Momentum Gallery trained by Jimmy Ting drawn barrier 6 Race 5 – Free Foal trained by Frankie Lor drawn barrier 6 Race 7 – All Beauty trained by Frankie Lor drawn barrier 4 Race 8 – Red Lion trained by John Size drawn barrier 7
She was hopeful of her chances as most of them had fared well drawing nice barriers. "I think I've drawn a few good barriers which are very important here” said Kah.
Kah has managed to pick up eight rides on the nine-race feature program.
She was presented with a unique racing helmet by the HJKC as a memento of riding in the IJC.
She was originally going to stay in Hong Kong for the LONGINES Hong Kong International race day at Sha Tin on Sunday.
However, she will instead fly out Thursday morning heading for the Perth to meeting at Ascot on Saturday where, amongst others, she is booked to ride Godolphin’s Kementari in the Group 3, $1.5 million Touch Gold-Rush – a Group 3 contest.
