KRISTY BANKS CONFIRMED FOR BOOM RIDE

It will be a Toowoomba team that will be looking to take Spirit Of Boom to victory in Saturday’s $2 million BMW Magic Millions 2yo Classic.

Speaking at the Sunshine Coast meeting twenty-four hours after the Spirit Of Boom had demolished his rivals in the in the Magic Millions 2yo Prelude at the Gold Coast, trainer Tony Gollan confirmed the ride belonged to Kristy Banks who has been aboard the colt in his first two starts.

Gollan: “I spoke to the owners today (Sunday) and decided that we would stick with Kristy (Banks). She’s ridden the horse every start so far. She does a lot of work for me. Obviously it was a good win yesterday. She’s just won on the horse by seven, you know. Yeah, the phone has been ringing with jockeys looking for the ride, but Kristy knows the horse. The owners are pretty loyal and we’ve confirmed the ride now, so that’s been decided.”

“The horse did well last night. He ate up. He never left anything behind and he seems alright this morning.

“We’ve had his whole preparation geared for this Saturday, the Magic Millions. I haven’t trained him for a 900m race (the race distance of the Prelude). I’ve trained him for the 1200m next week.”
