Following the handing down of a disqualification to gun rider Tommy Berry on Tuesday, Racing NSW stewards have handed out two more significant disqualifications with jockeys Jack Martin and Kayla Nisbet being outed for four months and one week ... and two months respectively.
Jacob Hoffman, who is an owner and professional punter, was also outed for nine months and one week in relation to his involvement in the matters under inquiry.
Martin was handed his disqualification after he was found guilty on three charges ... giving false or misleading evidence at a stewards’ inquiry, conduct prejudicial to the image and integrity of racing and wagering on races via a family member’s Sportsbet account.
Nisbet was handed her disqualification after she was found guilty on two charges ... accepting a cash amount from Hoffman, via a third party ... and with providing false or misleading evidence at the initial stewards’ inquiry into the matter.
Martin’s penalty will take effect immediately and he can return to the saddle on July 3.
Nisbet penalty will take effect immediately and will end on March 18.
Hoffman’s penalty will take effect immediately and will end on October 22.
