AND OVER AGAIN'S WIN ADDS ANOTHER LAYER TO A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

It is always a special treat when one of your stable runners gives you a nice birthday present, and that is exactly what And Over Again did for Leigh Sears at Warwick on March 14 when taking out a Ratings 0-58 Handicap over 1100m.
Although this was And Over Again’s twenty-ninth career start, it was only the third outing for team Sears since transferring from the Grant Arnold yard.
The son of Tycoon Ruler kicked off the Sears trained phase of his carer with a fourth place finish over 1200m at Toowoomba and then followed that up with a second place finish at the Gold Coast over 1100m.
A four month break from race action saw And Over Again arrive at Warwick fresh and ready for his first-up assignment for which he as quoted as third favourite at $5.50 on the betting boards.
With Jake Molloy in the saddle, And Over Again settled in midfield early. That put him in seventh and then eighth place behind a pack of runners involved in a fairly hectic chase towards the front of the action.
That waiting game would pay good dividends.
And Over again was still back in seventh in the sweep to the home turn, but Molloy was saving ground on the grey.
He was quickly up to sixth place early in the straight, and now just three lengths off the lead. At the 200m mark And Over Again was up to fifth and closing ... then up to third with 150m left to run ... then second just inside the 100m ... then into the lead when it mattered most over the concluding stages ... and on to a 0.50 length victory to add another layer to the birthday celebration.
