TONY AND MADDYSEN SEARS TRAINING PARTNERSHIP LANDS A THREE VENUE TREBLE

Nothing like a three venue Saturday treble to highlight the expertise of a stable in placing horses of different levels of capability in races where their individual potential can be best realized.
On July 8, seven days after landed a double at Toowoomba, the Tony and Maddysen Sears training partnership brought home another three winners when Baanone saluted at Doomben, Allora Enzo took the honours at Toowoomba and Straight Alphas won at Esk.
Baanone’s win in town was special (see separate story) but the ‘lower league’ results at provincial and country venues are just as important for the connections of horses involved at those venues and the Sears stable is one of the leaders in making good on that revenue return stream option.
Allora Enzo won for the second time in four starts since transferring to the Sears yard from the Steven O’Dea and Matthew Hoysted stable … and the second time in his last three starts … when taking out a Class 1 Handicap over 1625m at Toowoomba with Nozi Tomizawa in the saddle.
A $2.80 favourite, Allora Enzo won by 0.50 lengths.
Like Allora Enzo, Straight Alphas also saluted for the second time in her last three starts when taking out a BM65 Handicap over 1200m at Esk … the same venue at where she had scored two runs back.
Like Allora Enzo, Straight Alphas started as the $2,80 favourite, but her victory came by just a 0.10 length margin, with Sariah Champkin’s 2kg claim arguably helping make the result come down in the favour of the Sears trained runner.
And there are further similarities between Allora Enzo and Straight Alphas.
Both have won twice from twelve and elven starts respectively and their earnings are close to a match with Allora Enzo (with one run more) earnings currently standing at $57 400 while that of Straight Alphas sits at $55 280.
