TONY GOLLAN TAKES OUT A THIRD OF THE CARD
By Graham Potter | Saturday, May 4, 2024
Trainer Tony Gollan not only walked away from the opening meeting of the 2024 Stradbroke Season with the Group 2 Victory Stakes winner in the form of Antino, but he also saddled two other winners on the day ... Typhoon Taavi and Immoral ... as well as seeing his runners claim the trifecta in the race won by immoral.
Typhoon Taavi, who jumped at $1.65 in a BM78 Handicap over 1200m. was easily the shortest priced favourite ... and winner ... on the day.
The five-year-old daughter of I Am Invincible was completing a hat trick of wins ... and her followers never had any cause for concern as Typhoon Taavi romped in under a confident ride from apprentice Tahlia Fenlon, who has been in the saddle in all three of Typhoon Taavi’s recent wins.
Four races later, the Gollan stable went bang again, this time emphasising its power with a flashing one-two-three result as the longer price Immoral edged out his stable companion race favourite Warby by the narrowest of margins with another Gollan runner Muschialli finishing less than two lengths back in third spot.
Jimmy Orman, Ryan Maloney and Tommy Berry did the honours in the saddle for the Gollan trio, finishing first, second and third respectively.
